HISTORY OF ST. BONIFACE NURSERY SCHOOL

St. Boniface Nursery School is a government nursery school established on September 11th, 2006. It is the second school which was opened as part of the government’s Early Childhood Expansion Project. It is located in Sion Hill, St. James on the busy Highway 2A.  It is housed in the refurbished buildings of the former St. Boniface Primary School and is a historical landmark of the area.  The school comprises of three buildings including the refurbished original hall. The school was officially opened on June 4th, 2007 by the then Minister of Education, the Honourable Anthony Wood. The school caters to pupils between the ages of three and four years old from the areas of Bakers, Rock Dundo, Sion Hill, Upper Carlton, Black Bess and surrounding areas. The school’s first principal was Mrs.  Shelly Boyce. Over the years principals Miss Sandra Holder, Mrs. Valerian Miller, Miss Jennifer Moseley and Miss Sonia Taylor have made their respective contributions to the success and development of the school. 

The current appointed principal is Mrs. Cheryl Small, who aims to continue to enhance and achieve the mission of the school.
